We decided to get some fresh air and headed to the coast. We needed to break from work and put some space between us and our stresses. We headed to Newport and it was a cold, miserable, grey day and we loved it. We walked down to the shore at Yaquina Bay thinking it was Yaquina Head. We were quite confused when we couldn't find any of the mapped trails. We climbed down the hills over to the shore and got chased by a sea snake (seaweed). We did climb up to the lighthouse as well as visit the science center extension of Oregon University (or Oregon State... Not sure). The girls enjoyed looking at the exhibits and touch pool. We got a bit wet, but it was great to take a break.
