Kalia- 6 weeks

Kalia is now six weeks old. She's so expressive! She smiles and will soon start laughing. The sounds she makes are close to a laugh, but not quite. We spend much of the day eating, sleeping and hanging out doing tummy time to strenthen her neck. Yesterday she was in her swing and she reached out to grab the rings hanging down. It's the first time she's grabbed something on her own. I thought it was pretty cute.

Spring Break- part one

For Tristan's Spring break we went to see an aquarium down in Newport, Kentucky. It's down by Cincinnati, and just over the Kentucky boarder. The Ohio River runs just to the right of the Aquarium and is the boarder between the states. Cincinnati is a beautiful city with lots of pretty architecture. Because the river runs past downtown, there are lots of cool bridges. We went with three of Tristan's classmates and their families. Here are some pictures we took.

Outside of the aquarium. We ate our picnic lunch here after going through the aquarium.
I think she's got a long way to grow!

Family picture in the frog exhibit. Right next to this exhibit they had the otter habitat. We watched two otters playing tag and chasing each other all over. When they jump in the water they'd spin as they played. The kids loved it. As we were leaving the otters the exit takes you through a bird exhibit and I almost got pooped on. Ew!

Tristan had lots of fun finding weird looking creatures to take pictures of, like this lobster. There was a Giant Pacific octopus in the tank next to this one. However, since they really like dark places, I couldn't get a picture of it. It's eye was huge!

Kalia- One Month Old

Our little girl is growing so fast! At her one month appointment she weighed 7 lbs. 13 ounces, measured 21 1/2 inches long. The doctor says she's healthy but has a slight hernia that we will watch. It's a common thing for her age and we aren't worried. She's so fun! She likes looking at the pictures in her books and talking. She lifts her head and turns it side to side when lying on her belly. She has fantastic smiles that crinkle her whole face. We sing songs and dance around. I tried for three days to get a good picture of a smile. Saphira doesn't mind sitting next to her and yesterday she jumped up to comfort her when she's was crying. We love our little girl and wanted to share her with you! Enjoy the pictures.

Kalia -Three weeks old

I am super proud of this blanket. I worked really hard to quilt it myself. I just finished it this week and yes it has been christened (according to Tristan- been spit up on). We are enjoying the visit with grandma and spend most the day napping and eating. She's started giving me these huge smiles that make her eyes crinkle. I hope to get a picture of the expression soon. It's so fun to watch her expressions change, especially when she's sleeping. If her behavior now is any indication, I believe we may have a future sleeptalker on our hands.
