Newport again

This time our trip to the coast was accompanied by blue skies, warm temperatures, and lots of smiles.  We found the real Yaquina Head.  I loved the pebble beach.  The waves sound like laughter as they recede from the rock strewn coast.  It was very relaxing and peaceful.  The lighthouse was closed, so we were unable to climb up it, but there were people whale watching from the deck below the light.

Man made tide pools that have been taken over by nature.
We really enjoyed looking for creatures here.

Mushroom hunting with the Burch clan

Our friends took us mushroom hunting up in the hills.  It was a great opportunity to see some wild land and spend the afternoon together.  I love being in nature but have found my experiences narrow.  We parked our cars and walked up the hill right from the road.  I've never been "off trail" in the forrest.  It was pretty cool.  I'm so glad we have adventurous friends to help us experience new things.
Daddy caught a newt for us to observe.

Rare Orchid (we saw 4- Maybe not so endangered anymore?)

Almost like South Carolina.

 Silly faces

Oregon forests are truly beautiful.

Pretend Primary

Kalia loves to pretend primary.  I finally documented it.  She loves to write out her lesson and songs using squiggly lines on paper and board books for song books.  She is always conducting and will teach a lesson, ask Amalyn to say the prayers, as well as 'bear testimony.'  My favorite was when she told a story of being a baby and ended with "I know that we are babies and our mom and dads love us."  Now she's starting to use the vacuum as her microphone.

A Saturday

This is what my family was up to today.
