Kalia's shopping list

In case you were wondering, it says: raspberries, cantaloupe, cucumbers, lettuce, tomatoes, apricots, grapes, strawberries, salmon, celery, milk and yogurt.

I was making my list and she was helping by making suggestions and writing it for me.  She didn't have help with spelling.  She did it all with sounding out the words.

Here is the rest of the list: melon, pears and cherries.

Moving...Again.

Our cute new place!  We love living here.  Awesome kitchen and a big fenced backyard.  I foresee us living here happily for a while.  The girls love the built in best buddies living next door. Definitely a good move for our family.

Seattle

Tristan decided to take a Continuing Education course held in Seattle.  We tagged along.  It was a long drive up but we really enjoyed the visit.  We walked through the Pike Place market and got HUGE peaches, saw Discovery Point where an official Pow Wow was being set up, and played at the park.  We enjoyed walking through the town, and exploring the library with it's famous architecture, and didn't enjoy the traffic that we seemed to be caught in everywhere we went.  We stayed at a condo about 25 minutes south of the city.  We really enjoyed seeing another one of our country's cool cities.

Family visits

This month is going to be a busy one!  Tristan's family came up June 30th for a week.  We went to church and came home to visitors.  We shared dinner and planned out some of the activities.  Tuesday afternoon they took the girls with them out to the coast for a night.  Tristan and I had the house to ourselves, a first since Kalia was born.  We really lived it up by going to a movie at 10pm.  We enjoyed watching the new StarTrek movie and sleeping in. We drove to the coast enjoying the drive.  Once out there we visited the lighthouse and got to check out the tide pools.  Way cool.

We ate lunch at Mo's and explored a few shops before heading back home.  We stopped at a park to let Kalia and Amalyn get out some wiggles and to eat dinner, though in reverse order.

They'd created some thrilling game to test strength and endurance.  The object of the game is to eliminate your competition by forcing your opponent to touch the ground.  The last one swinging wins.

Oh how the mighty have fallen.

Jeff was helping Amalyn up the slide.  She was trying to do her part, furiously running mid-air.  It was hilarious.

Picture story 1: Tristan and Amalyn were walking together when Jeff attacked.  I looked back and saw Kalia imitating him.  Jeff noticed to and changed his target.

 Picture story 2: Grandma and Grandpa ask Kalia to go see the rose garden.  Amalyn notices and not to be left behind, takes off after them.

 We returned home to a very hot house.  Our kids stayed up WAY too late, but thoroughly enjoyed being showered with attention.  We booked a hotel in Beaverton for the following two nights (4th and 5th) and decided to drive back out and up the coast to get there.  Our kids were in Tristan's parent's van so we had a pretty quiet drive.  I really enjoyed it.  I love the twists and turns opening up to amazing views of rugged coastal cliffs.  It was a beautiful blue sky day for a drive.  We toured Tillamook cheese factory and enjoyed some ice cream before heading inland to our hotel in Beaverton.  After some stressful moments we got pizza and watched the fireworks on TV.  We were too cold to go the local show.  The kids went out with Jeff and Heather to watch some of it.  While in Portland we visited the Rose Garden and the temple.
