When I logged on I couldn't believe it has been two months since I'd posted last, but the evidence is right there. (more shame.... It's been 6 weeks since this post started) In my defense, I blame a busy schedule. For starters, Kalia and I spent three weeks in Utah (Tristan was there for 10 days), then summer quarter started. Since Tristan gets out of class much earlier we have spent less time online. Soooo less time posting. I guess I'll start my update with Kalia's four month appointment (two weeks early becuase of our trip). She weighed in at 11.6 pounds and 22.75 inches long. She got her shots (boo!) and the doctor gave me information about starting solids.
The next day we got on a plane to Salt Lake City. Well, actually it was to Chicago then to SLC. Quite interesting. She flew like a champ and charmed all around her. The guy that sat next to me was really nice and I was able to have her carseat in a complimentary seat near the window. This was especially appreciated in the second leg of the journey when she napped. The flight was pleasant and we arrived in Utah safely.
We spent the first few days running around as my younger brother Andrew prepared to leave to the MTC. Kalia was able to meet lots of family members at Elder Elmer's "farewell." He gave his talk (went well) then headed to my parent's after Sacrament meeting. Family waited patiently for the hoards of young'uns to have their fill before having our sampling of sandwiches. It was great to see some of my high school friends. But I especially enjoyed chatting with my aunts and cousins.
We were also able to participate in the open house of the Oquirrah Mountain Temple. Kalia enjoyed all the mirrors and chandeliers. She'd "ooooo" the whole way through.
In the following days we went to visit the Jex's and Amanda Clawson. Wedensday we headed to Provo to drop our Elder at the curb (a first in MTC history).

Kalia spent time on the floor as we encouraged her to roll over. We had a girl's luncheon in Bountiful with Grandma and Grandpa Crookston.
Tristan arrived on Friday. We planned a visit to the Hogle Zoo with the Jexs and Smiths. We enjoyed our visit, however it was cut short by torrential rain (Wow).
We went back to the Jex home to chat for a bit. We met up with Tristan's family to have dinner and let everyone have a chance to catch up. We then headed north to Cache Valley for a week. While in Cache Valley we connected with the Book Table crew for snacks and games. That was so much fun to see everyone again. We went to the Willows mini golf for the afternoon.
We also were able to enjoy a visit to Utah State, the Blue Bird Restaurant, the Book Table, and Summer Fest.
While at Summer Fest we ran into Eric and Tina McComber at the Dreamweaver's booth.
We returned to West Valley for a Father's Day celebration on Sunday at my parent's house and to give Kalia a name and blessing. We really enjoyed seeing everyone and having the support at her blessing. We left Monday morning to come back to Ohio. Tristan returned to classes the following day.
