Hiking with Daddy

We went hiking today.  the trail had some steep inclines and I was trying to encourage Amalyn to keep going by saying "up up up!" she quickly responded, "I don't want to go up up, I want to go down, down."  The hike ended soon after.

Hard work pays off

 Amalyn enjoys puzzles.  She's been working on them and can do a surprising amount all on her own.  We have some wooden puzzles that have been packed away and I thought I'd pull them out.  Amalyn work and worked on it.

I was ready and I caught her expression when she finished the puzzle for the first time (completely on her own).  Priceless!

Ridin' in style

Now they can ride together!  I love Amalyn's grin.  She was SO thrilled.  She can't grow, the seat's already maxed out.

Portland visit

Daddy had a dental conference to attend in Portland so we decided to book a hotel and take everyone.  During the day while Daddy was busy we played at Washington Park, exploring the Rose Garden and the Arboretum.  I found that the Children's Museum has a free night the first Friday of the month from 5 to 8 pm.  We picked up Daddy (fighting the famous Portland traffic) and headed over.  We throughly enjoyed the mayhem of a crowded museum then went to Olive garden for dinner.  We visited the downtown Portland library and walked the nearby streets to find a toy store.  Portland is an awesome city.  They were having a Calico Critters even and we met Mrs. Cat. before heading back to Lebanon.
