Utah Trip - Shopping & Lunch

We few out to Utah for my Grandpa's 80th birthday and family reunion.  The flights were harrowing and it was a very long day.  We were able to have a complimentary seat through the first two legs of the journey (Charleston- Chicago-Dever) but she sat on my lap into SLC.  We got in about midnight local time.  A very long day for us all.  I don't know if I would have made it flying solo with the two kids.  When Tristan found out that he wouldn't be starting work while we were gone we cinched our belts and paid an arm and a leg to get him on the same flights.  Luckily tickets were still available.  Since the decision was made just a few days before we left, we decided to keep Tristan's presence a surprise.  More on that later.

We met up with Tristan's Aunt Marilyn the next morning at an awesome fort park.  She gave the girls some great gift bags of clothes, puzzles, and treats.  We then went to Gardner's village to look around and enjoy some lunch.  We headed back to my parents to join my sisters and Mom in a shopping excursion at City Creek.  We finished our day with dinner and games at the Jex's home.  Our kids had so much fun together!  Kalia really enjoyed playing and Amalyn got really silly and was throwing herself to the floor, giggling uncontrollably.

Thursday Tristan and I were able to visit the temple while grandma played with the girls.  We drove up to Ogden for lunch at Chuck-A-Rama.  After we ran some errands, including more shopping.  This trip was successful and we were able to find new shirts for most of the family to wear for family pictures scheduled for Saturday morning.  We got back to West Valley and my sisters and parents all went to Kohls to finish up the shopping and find shirts for Dad, Mom and the girls.  We came back to Tristan and Jake watching War of the Worlds and headed to bed.
