We wanted to explore around Charleston a bit more before we headed up the coast to Wilmington. We drove through a gorgeous neighborhood in Mt. Pleasant. These homes were literally on the beach. I wanted so badly to laze about on the beach, but we were able to talk to a nice couple about the area before heading North. The drive was about four hours. We saw lots of small stands on the side of the road selling reed baskets. It was a pretty drive. We stopped at a nature preserve for a potty/ feeding break. The boys got out to explore (or catch) local wildlife and spotted a baby alligator in the pond.
